Dordogne Nontron Gites and Bed & Breakfast

I stayed in Gite châtaigne for 2 weeks with my husband and daughter. We had a great time visiting all the sites near by. We relaxed most afternoons by the pool. We loved the peaceful views in the countryside. I spent two mornings with Andrea. She is an amazing photographer. She took me to areas I could not have imagined. We did get up at 6 am to catch early sun rises. My results were so much better . I look at landscape and sunsets so different than I did before. We even stopped for lunch in a local country French restaurant catching upon so many questions I needed to ask. A perfect stay indeed. Our time dedicated to our family time. The gite was perfect. My husband loved to cook so the supermarket s were also close by. So dinning out door most days and evenings was a must.

Thanks for your hospitality. Andrea

Lovely cottage in peaceful location

We stayed here in September for a week with friends (who had already been there a week before we arrived). This was part of our trip around France in our camper van, and was a welcome break from all the driving. The cottage is located near Nontron in a very peaceful location with lovely views and amazing sunsets! There are both front and side "patio" areas to catch the sun at any time of the day. It was so restful, most days we didn't leave there until after lunch, returning in the evening for a bbq. Kevin and Andrea are a lovely, friendly couple and were perfect hosts, leaving us in peace but always on hand if we needed anything. It is a perfect base for touring the area with Brantome, St Jean de Cole and Perigueux particularly lovely - and the markets there very lively. If we are ever in this area again we would certainly book another break.

A haven of peace and tranquillity with sunny terrace and lovely view

Thanks Kevin and Andrea for a wonderful stay and being the perfect host - your tips on local walks, things to see and restaurants were spot on! Thanks too for going out of your way to put up Ellie - we shall treasure memories of watching the stars in the dark night sky. Hope we might get back,

This place has everything and more. First things first though, the owners were brilliant with us and nothing was too much trouble. They knew loads about the area and saved us money and time telling us which restaurants or attractions to avoid or head for. The house has a separate and walled pool area that is great for the times when you just want to relax around it or cool off in it. We borrowed push bikes from them and went a bike ride, there seemed to be an inexhaustible amount of tracks and pathways to follow and some very quiet tarmac lanes around the property. The property is elevated and the view is fabulous. We had a choice of breakfast types and a fantastic wine collection to choose from. We have never done this type of holiday before but based on this experience we would do it again and again. Ian, Debbie and the boys. — Ian and Debbie, 10 Aug 2017
Fantastic place people area and weather!

We had a great time here. The gite was lovely. Very pretty and well equipped with plenty of linen. A nice bottle of wine on arrival and Andrea went to get us fresh croissants one of the mornings. The views are amazing. Lovely mists in the morning and unbelievable sunsets. We had wonderful walks in their grounds through the wood and to the lake. The weather was so good we sat by the pool a few days. There are lots of beautiful places to visit all within easy reach.. We drove from Limoges airport which is only 55 minutes away. Kevin and Andrea were there if we needed them and very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a great holiday. Ruth and Ian
